Production Engineering

Factory Planning

...means for us to create flexible, versatile production structures that enable an easy and cost-effective adaptation to changing frame conditions, e.g. market, product range, location, etc.

Our competence

  • Plant (re-)design, extension, consolidation and relocation
  • Site selection and operation analyses
  • Master layout plans
  • Material-flow design for the dimensioning and selection of, e.g. plants and operating facilities, floor space or transportation, warehousing and PPC systems
  • Layout planning up to the work-station level
  • Planning of flexible manufacturing and logistics structures
  • Realisation concepts and start-up management
  • Investment planning and collateral controlling

We are working with modern planning tools, e.g. digital planning table or VR lab, which permit us to simulate and validate complex planning parameters prior to the start-up of production. In this field, we have developed an own software product:  linelogix ® allowing the simulation of assembly lines from layout to manpower planning.

For specific building or construction-related questions we are in close contact with well-experienced industrial architects.

Production Systems

...are designed by us as integrated socio-technical concepts tailored to the customers' specifications, by means of which lean but functionally capable processes can be established throughout the enterprise.

Our competence

  • Increase of value added through elimination of waste in the processes (value-stream design, simulations with ValueStreamDesigner©)
  • Standardisation and creation of robust processes for sustainable quality improvement (PDCA, six sigma)
  • Speeding up of lead times in the material flow by means of inventory reduction
  • Implementation of internal customer-supplier relations through introduction of Kanban systems
  • Increase of the internal transparency by visual management
  • Fast implementation, supported by the organisation, by means of Kaizen workshops with interdisciplinary teams
  • Embedding of lean thinking in the enterprise through training in lean production and lean management methods both on employee and management level

The philosophy of integrated production systems is an integral part of IAP strategy which we apply to selected sections within the value chain and also beyond to non-value adding enterprise divisions (e.g. lean office).
